BINGHAM BUILT WARRANTY INFORMATION
BIKE FRAMES, STEMS, AND SWEETPOST LIMITED WARRANTY
This warranty covers covers Bingham Built frames, stems, and Kent Eriksen seatposts (aka Sweetposts) only purchased directly from Bingham Built Bikes or authorized Bingham Built dealers in the United States.
We offer a frame warranty solely to the original owner of the frame and it is not transferable to subsequent owners. Bingham built Inc. warrants to the original owner that our frames are free from defects in material and workmanship for as long as we are in business. We will repair the defect at no charge, exchange the frame for another frame, or credit the purchase price towards the purchase of a new frame. We must be notified in writing within 30 days of discovering any defect. The warranty only covers manufacturer’s defects. The warranty will be void if the defect is directly related to personal misuse, abuse, alteration, modification, improper assembly, improper maintenance. Things like driving into your garage with the bike still in the rack on top of your car or practicing Evil Knievel tricks are not covered under this warranty. In cases similar to those listed in the previous sentence, we’ll work with you and do our best to find a solution to fix your bike, but it won’t be covered under warranty.
Components from other manufacturers are not covered under Bingham Built Inc’s warranty policy. There is a good chance the component manufacturer will have a warranty policy. We’ll do what we can to help you file a claim through the component manufacturer if needed. The best starting point for this is to get in touch with the manufacturer first and secondly contact us if you need additional information in order to file the claim. Eriksen and Bingham Derailleur hangers and Seatpost hardware (caps and seat collar clamps) are not covered under warranty.
KENT ERIKSEN SEATPOSTS (SWEETPOSTS):
Kent Eriksen Seatposts are under warranty for 5 years to the original owner only. The warranty is not transferrable to subsequent owners. If you purchased the Kent Eriksen seatpost through a shop, you must provide a valid receipt from the shop your purchased it from. Seatposts are prone to cracking if you over-tighten the end caps more than 12nm. If you over tighten the end caps and the seatpost cracks, it is not covered under this warranty. The warranty is only valid for manufacturer’s defects and defective materials. The warranty will be void if the defect is directly related to personal misuse, abuse, alteration, modification, improper assembly, improper maintenance.
Stems are under warranty for 5 years to the original owner and not transferable to subsequent owners. The warranty is only valid for manufacturer’s defects and defective materials. The warranty will be void if the defect is directly related to personal misuse, abuse, alteration, modification, improper assembly, improper maintenance. Torque specification on the face plate bolts is 5nm. Please refer to your fork manufacturer for steerer tube torque spec for the steerer tube binder bolts.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT BICYCLE RIDING Bicycle riding, particularly mountain biking and/or riding in a group, is an inherently dangerous activity and the bicycle rider is assuming that risk. Proper care and maintenance of your Bingham Built bicycle frame is your responsibility and can reduce the risk of injury.
AFTERMARKET PRODUCTS WARNING Bingham Built designs and builds high end custom bicycle frames, stems and seatposts. Bingham Built does not test components made by other manufacturers to determine compatibility or safety when used in combination with Bingham Built frames, stems or seatposts. Bingham Built frames and components may not be compatible with all third-party products or accessories. Customer assumes all risks associated with the use of third-party products with all Bingham Built frames, stems or seatposts. Bingham Built, its agents, employees and owners shall have no liability for any personal injury, disease, death, property damage or loss sustained or caused as a result of any Customer’s use of third-party products with Bingham Built frames or components.
